Generally speaking, polyurethanes are synthetic resins or plastics that result from a polyaddition reaction between dialcohols or polyols and polyisocyanates. This is the reaction that gives plastic its rubber-like qualities. The resin is usually a mixture of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDPT).
